Graphite on acrylic coated paper
Photo: Olof Nimar
The drawings in this series build on the impossibility of perfect repetition. The paper the drawings are made on is prepared with an acrylic chalk coating. Each drawing is drawn in the same manner and through the same process but the hardness of the pencil used on each paper varies. The drawing is carefully constructed with a grid where each square was meant to be 5x5mm but the manual process prevents the square from becoming exactly 5x5mm. Every other box is filled with graphite, but the repetition in the process effects the focus and after X amount of repetitions mistakes occur and makes the drawing come to life.
